CEMES SOUTHAMPTON: new ‘gap year’ exploring young vocations

CEMES is a new ‘gap year’ programme offering young adults (aged 18-30) the opportunity to explore their calling and vocation through a year volunteering as Leadership Assistants within a diverse group of churches in Southampton. As part of the national ‘Church of England Ministry Experience Scheme’ this programme is completely FREE to join.

Participants will gain practical experience in parish ministry, church leadership, community engagement, pioneer mission and fresh expressions of church, while also working together on bigger projects across the city. Participants will also be offered accommodation, supervision, support, a monthly living allowance, and the opportunity to engage in the above theology course, streamed from St Mellitus College.
